Choosing the perfect kitchen cabinet colors can be a chore in itself –after all, your features and units construct the kitchen’s overall look, and your color choices make or break the design. Can you choose the right cabinet color with confidence? You’ll want to put deeper thought into it, especially if you just spent quite a bit of money into a new, freshly painted kitchen. You wouldn’t want the colors to clash or be too bold because you want the features to compliment the walls. Unless you’re an interior designer, the choice can be a bit blurry without any guidance. Color sets the tone of the space; it provides an ambiance to feel welcoming. While you may be tempted to pick a color you love for your kitchen cabinets directly from the showroom, you have to remember that those colors will look different in each and every home. As with any room, you need to reflect on the amount and type of natural light the space gets, or doesn’t get. Knowing that, will help you decide on which hues work best, either warm-toned or cooler. If you are feeling rebellious, maybe consider exploring a two-tone kitchen, which helps to break up the geometry of the space and highlight certain areas. Using lighter cabinets mounted on the walls in a small kitchen layout can be more visually appealing, making sure the room doesn’t feel too top heavy, and you can have dark units for the base of the kitchen. Sometimes it’s all about balance for the eyes! Wooden kitchen cabinets are a big trend right now. The color of wood will depend on the selection, but this can be altered through the use of stains. It’s a remarkable choice, and not the most common, but stains are an option for a larger kitchen space. The big size allows breathing room for the stained cabinets which give the kitchen a warm, cozy feel. You can also combine stained and lacquered or metallic cabinets at different levels. It’s a design that reflects a modern, unique idea. It also prevents the stained cabinets from becoming too intense. Cabinets in the natural, unstained finish are preferred over painted surfaces because painted has a higher tendency to scuff over time with the frequent exposure to wear and tear. What finish is best for kitchen cabinets? Choosing the right paint finishes for kitchen cabinets is important because it affects how tough your cabinets will be in the long-run. The units are subject to constant touching, pulling and slamming, with utensils routinely sliding in and out. This can lead to scratching and the units chipping away –not good. The more matte a paint is the less durable it will be. A full-gloss paint finish can not only give the kitchen a stunning look, but it will be more resistant to scuffs and fingerprint marks, especially if you have children. However, in recent interior design trends, matte finishes tend to be the more admired, but satin paints beat the sense of balance between sturdiness and ‘prettiness.’ (239) 214-3690 www.swflremodelers.com

Perhaps you can’t tolerate the current condition of your small kitchen anymore; the old kitchen has worn down over the years, you bought a new house and haven’t had time to improve or expand, or you have simply been inspired to make some creative changes in an area of your house where you spend most of your time. No matter what the case may be, you don’t need a huge sum of money in order to make major modifications to your tiny kitchen design. Turn your kitchen around, no matter its size. It’s the heart of your home after all. Add texture, fixtures and features with a blend of affordable upgrades to create a fresh look that is modern or traditional. Let’s talk remodel! Laundry, school work and time-consuming cooking tasks can’t be done efficiently and easily in a small space. Unless you no longer cook or you make very few big meals. Since the main function of a small kitchen is preparation of meals, you should concentrate on the essential equipment and the necessary workstations. When designing, it pays off immediately to keep it simple and organized. Rationalize and choose modern appliances for your kitchen. Consider using a cart that you get in and out of a cabinet close by, or a small island. By minimizing the traffic jams in your undersized kitchen, you can certainly create an illusion of space. Utilize open and flexible storage –Working in a kitchen with cupboards perched on top of each other can give you a feeling of being cramped, boxed-in and confined. The problem only gets worse when you can’t find something in the cabinets. However, swapping the top cabinets for open storage shelves may be the solution. Also, Consider pot shelves, spice racks, pegboard walls and knife holders to create a more open layout with tools that are easily accessible. Save space by all means! A roll-out pantry design can work when you easily pull out what you need and roll it back in. Besides a crisp color scheme with neutral tones, go for large and bold flooring. You might be in favor of your current floor pattern or style, but tiny tiles in a smaller kitchen may not be the best fit. The goal is to have fewer number of grout lines and it will appear more spacious and widely spaced apart. A smaller kitchen remodel doesn’t have to be costly and complicated. Depending on your budget, you can mix a blend of material and innovative design to give your kitchen the ideal look. Call on experts to help and change the way you see your home. Get started today!
